Your hair is growing. The struggle is keeping what you grow.

Happy Sunday, and welcome to August. This month is all about Hair on the Go. Summer means travel, heat, and days that don't slow down, and your fine hair still needs care that moves with you. All month, the focus is one thing: keeping your length while you're on the road.

To open the month, everything in the shop is 50% off through August 16. And this week we are focusing on getting to the root of the enemy of your length...breakage.

In Today's Issue:

→ Why fine hair breaks even when it's moisturized

→ The deep-conditioning move that protects your length before you travel

→ One small act of care to give your hair this week

Stage: STEWARDSHIP

Fine Hair Length Retention: Stop Breakage and Keep the Length You Grow

Fine hair length retention progress

You do what it takes to grow your hair (or so you think), but your length seems to stay the same. I get it.

Here's what takes some people a while to understand: All hair grows (unless there's an underlying health issue). The problem isn't usually being able to grow hair.

This week's focus

Before You Keep Your Length, Understand the Breakage

Before you can keep your length, you have to understand the causes of your breakage. It's the same story told from two ends (no pun intended). Fine hair breaks for a reason, and moisture is rarely the only reason.

Most of the time it's an imbalance problem. Fine strands can be soft and well-moisturized and still lack the fortification needed to protect them from breakage, so they stretch, weaken, and break, even though they feel fine to the touch. Add a summer of trips, heat, and hard water, and hair that was already fragile at home loses length even faster.

"So, the question isn't whether your hair is moisturized enough. It's whether it's strong enough."

Since August is the month when a lot of ladies get in some much needed vacay travel, I wanted to offer you the educational resources that I've personally written to help fine hair naturals at the deepest discount possible.

To open August, everything in The Faithful Living Shop is 50% off through August 16, the guides, planners, and dashboards that help you read your fine hair and build + maintain a regimen that protects your length.

No code is needed. It's simply the price while the sale is on.

Everything is marked down. And, if you've found my content useful, please share this rare discount with a friend.

FAITHFUL STRAND TIP

Deep condition and protein treat before you leave for a trip, not after you get back

We often treat conditioning and treatments only for repairing, once the damage is done. If you're traveling, protect your hair ahead of time.

Planes, hotel water, and long days in the sun are incredibly drying. When you prep your hair before you leave home, it's more fortified to protect your length through the trip and that's far better than trying to rescue your hair on the road or when you get home. Do it 1-2 nights before you go.

SACRED SELF CARE

One act of care that isn't fixing a problem

01 This week, do one thing for your hair that isn't damage control. Here's an idea: Oil your ends and your nape area to prevent tangling.
