Don't let that vacation cause you to forget about your hair care.

Summer is most people's travel season, and it's very easy for you to neglect your hair in the midst of all the excitement.

This week I'm sharing how you can (and should) take care of your hair by doing and bringing less with you on a trip.

In Today's Issue:

→ The four things that always earn a spot in my travel bag

→ The routines I never skip on the road, even when I'm exhausted

→ A pool and ocean trick that keeps chlorine and salt from drying your hair out

Stage: CLARITY

FAITHFUL STRAND TIP

Spending time in a pool or ocean?

Wet your hair with clean water and smooth a little conditioner or leave-in through it first.

Hair that's already full of fresh water takes in far less chlorine or salt, which can dry your strands out. Do it before every swim.

This week's focus

The Few Practices That Keep Your Hair Healthy When Traveling

When it's time to travel, it's so easy to neglect your hair. You may set it (in a protective style) and then...forget it. Long days of fun in the sun can leave you with no energy at night. Then, there's the very act of using someone else's bathroom. It's no wonder a night time hair routine gets skipped!

Yet, one skipped night easily becomes a skipped week, and you return home with hair that feels like it went on a different trip than you did LOL! But the women whose hair comes home healthy aren't those who are doing the most while they're away. They're doing less, on purpose, but with intention.

That's why it's a good idea to have a solid hair care routine you follow at home and an abridged version you follow when traveling.

To borrow a few practices from my own routine that are non-negotiable:

  • The satin bonnet and/or scarf goes on every night.
  • I moisturize my ends in the morning (especially if I'm in the hot sun all day) even if my hair is in a protective style.
  • If I'm gone longer than a week, I don't let a wash day pass just because I'm away from home.

"You don't need perfect hair care while you're on the road."

You just need a few focused practices that protect your hair from damage that can happen in even the shortest amount of time. Deciding those few things is easier when you understand what your hair needs and how to care for it simply, before you leave, while you're away, and when you get back home.

That's what the guides, planners, and dashboards in The Faithful Strand Shop will help you do.

And because August is all about hair on the go, every one of them is 50% off through August 16. It's the deepest discount I offered this year, so if a trip is coming up, this is the week to grab what helps you plan for the road and get your hair back on track when you're home.

Wherever you wake up this summer, be it in a hotel or a guest room that smells like someone else's life, you're not out of His reach. God's hand will lead you there the same as it leads you here. Safe travels my friend.
