Natural Hair Care with faith as the foundation and intention as the guide

Natural hair
Sunday, April 26, 2026 Vol. 2    Issue 17

Hey Reader,

As we wrap up this month of April before shifting gears to some more practical hair care content, I wanted to remind you of something important. You are not your hair.

I know we spend a lot of time around here on natural hair care, specifically fine natural hair, but I want to be clear. While everything I share is meant to help you care for and grow your hair through the lens of faith; your hair is not the main attraction. You are.

In This Issue:

→ A word about the woman underneath the hair

→ What God's attention to detail says about your worth

→ The connection between identity and consistent hair care

→ A simple addition to your deep conditioner this wash day

GUIDED GROWTH

This month's devotional

You Are More Than Your Hair

You are more than your hair devotional

There is something painful about standing in front of the mirror, looking at your hair, and feeling like it is failing you. Maybe it's not growing the way you hoped. Maybe it is breaking, thinning, or just not looking the way you'd like. Then, somewhere in that moment, maybe without even realizing it, you start to feel less than, as if you are the problem.

SACRED REFLECTIONS

"Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."

Luke 12:7

God doesn't just know that you exist. He knows all the details that make you...you. Every strand. Every season of growth and even loss.

That kind of knowing is intentional. And if God pays that level of attention to what grows from your head, it is worth asking what you believe about the woman underneath it.

Let that be your anchor this week.

This week's focus

Your Hair Is Worth the Time. Here Is Why.

The devotional I shared today established something important. Your worth is not in your hair. But that raises another question. If your hair is worth caring for because God gave it to you, why do so many of us lack consistency?

You may think there's a problem with motivation but it's not. It's about foundation.

Most of us go straight to products and techniques without ever settling the identity question first. We research. We invest. We do the things. And then life happens or our results don't match our effor and we are back at square one wondering what went wrong.

That's exactly why Phase One of the Faith Based Natural Hair Framework is Identity. Not deep conditioning. Not a product haul. Identity. You cannot build consistent care on top of a foundation that was never set. When you understand the value of what God gave you, how you show up for your hair changes completely.

That's what we work through inside the Faithful Strand Academy. I teach in a different way than others, sharing the granular details of what to do, but the difference is I start with who you are and whose you are so that your hair care is built on a firm foundation.

"When you understand the value of what God gave you, how you show up for your hair changes completely."

If you are ready to build your hair care on the right foundation, the Academy is where that happens.

SACRED SELF CARE

This week's action step

01 Add 1 to 2 drops of peppermint essential oil and half a dropper full (or teaspoon) of sweet almond oil or avocado oil to your deep conditioner this wash day. Peppermint stimulates the scalp and the almond or avocado oil supports moisture retention within the strand. A word of caution — peppermint essential oil is potent. One to two drops is enough.

I'm on my 2nd bottle of Swirly Curly's Advance Hair Elixir and it's doing wonders filling in my sparse temple areas.

I've used Olaplex No. 7 for years and still think it's the best hair oil for keeping split ends at bay. I use this oil whenever I straighten my hair as it has heat protection up to 450 degrees and it works (even though I dont go over 375).

Dr Berg's vitamin D3 K2 formulation is the best on the market. It's formulated with essential nutrients like magnesium, B6, and zinc to help your body absorb, activate, and properly use vitamin D. And, because it also contains MCT powder, you can even take this on an empty stomach. The biggest benefit I've noticed very quickly is that I have 95% less joint pains

Many Blessings,

Michelle
